Hi, I’m Meri.
I’m a product manager and learning experience designer who loves breaking things down, building them back up, and creating systems that actually work for real people.
Across my career—as a journalist, teacher, learning designer, and now product manager—I’ve found myself drawn to the same kind of work: getting to know people, understanding what they need, and figuring out how to turn messy, abstract problems into something clear, tangible, and useful.
Journalism taught me how to ask better questions and uncover meaning. Teaching taught me how to take complex ideas and make them accessible. Learning design and product brought it all together, giving me the space to not just explain ideas, but to build and iterate on solutions that can scale and create impact.
At my core, I’m a builder. I love the process of taking an idea, shaping it into something real, testing it, refining it, and seeing how it lands with the people it’s meant for.
I believe that when we design for people first, we can use technology to create solutions that are not only effective, but meaningful.
How I Work
I approach my work in a way that blends structure, creativity, and a lot of curiosity:
I connect dots across domains, pulling from different experiences to shape better solutions
I translate between audiences, whether that’s users, stakeholders, or cross-functional teams
I build and iterate quickly, using real feedback to guide decisions
I think in systems, not just features, so what we create is sustainable and scalable
I’m also naturally scrappy and resourceful, which is something I picked up early in teaching, journalism, and startup environments. I’m comfortable navigating ambiguity to move ideas forward.
A Few Things I’m Proud Of
Designing and developing global certification courses across four learning tracks for 6,500+ customers, achieving a 70+ NPS
Launching an award-winning learning platform that supported 2,500+ educators in building digital media literacy skills
Spearheading a virtual conference for 5,000+ attendees during the COVID-19 pandemic to support the shift to online instruction
What I’m Exploring Now
Lately, I’ve been especially interested in the intersection of AI, learning, and scalable product ecosystems. I want to design experiences that are more adaptive, personalized, and impactful.
A Bit More About Me
Outside of work, I’m someone who enjoys creating, whether that’s through writing, crafting, or baking. I have a lifestyle blog called How To Unicorn where I chronicle my creative projects.
That creative side shows up in how I approach my work, too. I’m always looking for ways to make things not just functional, but thoughtful, engaging, and a little more human.
